Just some interesting things related to the tech world I found floating around. Open Library (via David) – “What if there was a library which held every book? Not every book on sale, or every important book, or even every book in English, but simply every book—a key part of our planet’s cultural legacy.” Ethan on why cats should be censored – Not really. I believe they should, but that’s not his point. His point is that for every technology that allows us to do cat-blogging we are creating a new vehicle for samizdat. (Unfortunately, he doesn’t use that word.…
So Muslim sends a link to a Jew about an article written by a (presumable) Hindu. I thought it was funny for some reason. If you’re geeky, it’s a good read too. Technorati Tags: bad humor, information
via Kevin, I see our appearance at SXSW has been posted. I’m telling you to go listen to it, even though I haven’t, so I don’t know if I like what I said, but I’m an attention whore. Technorati Tags: SXSW2007

So, I did my first South by SouthWest this year. Not my last, I hope, but not running back either. Was on a panel called Ghost in the Machine: Spirituality Online. The festival itself has 3 parts, film, music, and interactive, which is where our panel was. Very tech heavy, very interesting, but a bit out of my league. Nonetheless, everyone is very friendly, people wanted to learn and to talk, and overall it was a great experience. On the panel were: James McNally – moderator – Consolation Champs Rachel Barenblat – Velveteen Rabbi (SXSW post) Keven Lawver – UltraNormal…

Via Jason O’Grady, I see that MEMRI is up to their usual business of inflaming anti-Arab feelings (for some background see these posts, here, here, here, and here.) Now, I have no reason to think that MEMRI is making up this posting, that’s not their MO, they cherry-pick inflammatory texts to translate. It is unfortunate that there is no further information as where the text they are translating came from, but I am willing to take it at face value. The material if factually inaccurate (the cube has already been built, the store has been open for several months, there…
