McCain Supporters Defend Islam and Hate Black People [Updated]

Really, it’s true. Aziz has a good post, including video, of how McCain supporters got rid of an Islamophobe from amongst them. However, The Poor Man shows us that bigotry is still part of the McCain clique. The fish stinks from the head. Update: Aziz updates his post that one of the “good guys” at the rally is prohibited from talking to the media. Abdul-Halim posts something similar. Election 2008, McCain

Obama and anti-Semitism

I’ve been watching the subtle anti-Semitism directed against Sen. Barack Obama. First there’s the constant reference to his name that he shares with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barack, and now he is being tied to a rabbi, a cousin of his wife’s. We’re now understanding how deep this anti-Semitism runs with the revelation that Gov. Sarah Palin did a little religion baiting in her last race and believes all Jews should be converted. We wouldn’t stand for this attack on a people if they were Muslim or Christian, and we shouldn’t stand for it when it directed to Jews.…

Where credit is due

John Bracken points me to this article on John McCain where he seems to be putting a lid on the racist rhetoric his campaign has been hinting at. Over at TPM they have video of the exchange and some analysis of what is going on now. Regardless of why, I’m glad McCain said what he said. Haroon seems to be a bit more bitter about this. I think he’s reading too much into it, but he is a smart guy, so who knows. Election 2008, McCain

On this Blog and Politics

A reader by the name of “Concerned” comments: I’m not sure what these anti-McCain and Palin missives have to do with the stated mission of your website which is to discuss issues surrounding Muslims and Islam I think it’s a fair enough question. Part of the answer lies in the origins of this blog, which is part of the post-9/11 narrative in this country and coincided with the rise of Gulf War II rhetoric. Inevitably, the discussions on this blog focused on US foreign policy, which is inherently tied to politics. The pattern was set. Second, the US is part…

GOP Supports Child Predators

I don’t know what else to say. So the Republicans have someone in the House chasing young boys. They cover-up. You think bad mistake, learn your lesson. Now it seems that John McCain doesn’t believe children should be taught to protect themselves or report predators. This means John McCain supports predators, doesn’t it? And to make it even better, Sarah Palin fired people who aggressively went after child molesters. So, either the GOP didn’t learn their lesson, or they support child molesters. Are they really trying to court soccer moms with the mantra “no child molester should be punished?” Election…

Prompting a Tele

It seems that Barack Obama is using a teleprompter. Apparently this is bad because it means he is stooping to GOP levels of having everything scripted for him. You see before, he spoke from conviction and didn’t need to have anything pre-written. At least, I think that’s why it’s bad. I can’t imagine why it would newsworthy otherwise. But Sarah Palin, she swears she doesn’t need a working teleprompter because she know everything. Oh wait, sorry. Republican talking, just invert the story and you’ll get the truth. It’s just like Calvin and Hobbes. Election 2008, McCain, sara

Eyes off the Prize

One thing I find very odd in this election is that national security is supposed to be the number one concern of the Republican Party. This is where their strength is. Since 2001 the greatest threat to the US is supposedly the invading Muslim hordes. While I may disagree with that position, I would at least hope that if the GOP sincerely believed that they would set themselves up to deal with that issue. Sarah Palin has no understanding of the world. NO, again, NO foreign policy understanding at all. We all see the emperor has no clothes. However, I…

John McCain invented the Blackberry

McCain invented the Blackberry. If McCain is Canadian, can he run for president of the USA? I suppose he needs to keep up with the Democrats who invented the internet. Although Bush did invent the internetS, so McCain really needs to keep up with his mentor. Is this a good analogy?: Bush = Emperor Palapatine McCain = Count Dooku Palin = Young Anakin (learning at the feet of the master) Election 2008, McCain
