So today begins Iraqi sovereignty. Apparently they are exercising their right not to go along with the US already. So we have Paul Bremer, Lakhdar Brahimi and the former IGC trying to figure out who is NOT in charge. So now the question is who’s taking care of our people?

Is the US in an abusive relationship?
Are we getting beaten up by our companion Saudi Arabia and making excuses for them? Because it sure seems that we are. Almost 1/2 of all foreign fighters in Iraq are from our friend and ally Saudi Arabia. I’m sorry, what?!? Look, people, we’ve had multiple rationale’s for getting involved in Iraq, starting with the search for WMD (which weren’t there, but even if they were, they were bought by the US and Saudi Arabia to stop the Shi’ah incursion from Iran) to spreading democracy and keeping the virulent ideology of Islamic extremists at bay. So as I understand it…
Kill all the Infidels
Via Atrios we have a Republican Rep. from Texas saying he wants to nuke Syria. I think we now have more than an inkling that there is a fifth column in the US, people who agree with Osama Bin Laden and are trying to further his agenda. Rep. He wants to nuke a country that has a type of Islam that OBL can’t stand, Shi’ah sympathetic (although not primarily Shi’ah), and he wants to kill Christian minorities in Muslim majority countries. Isn’t this part of the Al-Qaeda platform? Texas Democrats,…

It was a compelling speech that showed Gore’s conviction and passion. It came four years too late for Gore, but I hope that Kerry was taking notice. Gore claimed that America had lost its moral compass, that its ideals and foundations were being systematically undermined, and that the current administration were incompetent at best and criminally negligent at worst. It was a rousing performance that will probably be re-shown on CSPAN. Ghostdog says “four stars and two…
