Our Shared Future aims to improve the public conversation about Muslims and intercultural relations in the US by providing hard facts, evidence-based arguments, and research findings by reputable academics and experts.

ACLU Event: Face to Face: Confronting the Torturers #torture

This week, the ACLU will be co-hosting an event at the annual PEN World Voices Festival. “Face to Face: Confronting the Torturers” will take place on Thursday April 29 at 9:30 p.m. at Joe’s Pub in Manhattan. The program will include dramatic readings meant to provoke reflection on what it means to “confront” torturers, both figuratively and literally (more information below). Tickets can be purchased online here or at the door.

As you all know, next weekend is the Progressive Faith Blog Con. I’ll be there, and I hope to you meet you there as well. This weekend, I’m in Copenhagen for a conference called Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow (although they don’t have a website today). The press release is here. Event: Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals Conference

Muslim professionals from across the US and Canada will come together in Plainsboro, New Jersey (near Princeton) on May 2nd, 2009 to attend the 3rd Annual Leadership Summit, hosted by the Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals (CAMP). This year’s Summit is entitled “Leading in a Changing Landscape.” The event is an all‐day conference for Muslim Professionals from varied professional backgrounds – private, public and non‐profit.
