Our Shared Future aims to improve the public conversation about Muslims and intercultural relations in the US by providing hard facts, evidence-based arguments, and research findings by reputable academics and experts.

As you all know, next weekend is the Progressive Faith Blog Con. I’ll be there, and I hope to you meet you there as well. This weekend, I’m in Copenhagen for a conference called Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow (although they don’t have a website today). The press release is here. Many of us actively engaged in the interfaith movement share a passion for working toward the betterment of humanity and towards solutions to our most pressing challenges. The Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions invites you to direct some of that passion toward getting involved with the 2009 Parliament of the World’s Religions as a participant or program presenter. Ibn Arabi and Rumi: Teachings for the Modern World: A Conference. In 2009, The Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi Society and the New York Open Center began the first of a series of conferences together on the great mystic Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi. We now present the second conference in this series, this one focusing on the relationship of Ibn 'Arabi's teachings to those of Jalaluddin Rumi, the other giant of Sufi mysticism.
