Scanning the news today, I was struck by a headline on Reuters stating: “Majority of Palestinians back suicide bombing”. Starting a new page, the other one was getting too crowded. Israelis ram a relief boat that is also carrying a former US Representative. One Palestinian family loses five daughters in the same night after a mosque is targeted. If I’ve done the math right, according to the article 16% of all victims are confirmed civilians – that’s using the UN’s numbers. Torturing America

Via Juan Cole, it seems that we’ve been holding innocent people and torturing them for fun. CNN is reporting from a different source that torture is being carried out by us. I say “we” because we are all complicit in this act. As Americans we should be holding ourselves to a higher standard, and demand that our representatives hold themselves to an even higher standard than that.
