Read this piece. You cannot escape the race issue in the Katrina disaster. Chris Dickey talks about “Christian Rage, Muslim Moderation” in a Newsweek column. While the title and lede are somewhat misleading, I think the overall point is one that needs to be hammered over and over again: No religion has a monopoly on extremists, ignorance, or blinders. Because having the opportunity to live in the United States is worth it. And, among other reasons, why a new “Khilafah” and all of its advocates can kiss my ass.
