A good friend of mine was (not so) recently awarded a major honor by his university. Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person. Who says science and (Muslim) religion can’t mix?

Yesterday was the birthday of the Prophet (Milad un-Nabi). I had wanted to do a lengthy post on the various world traditions associated with the celebration of the day. Having just come from a conference in Cairo, I can agree that everyone will want to give you directions, regardless of what they know, and everyone says “insha’allah” every second word.
