Tomorrow, Saturday, is Navroz, the Iranian solar new year, and a day that many Shi’ah and people in the Persianate world celebrate. I normally have my Navroz poem up, but this year the day seems to have hit the big time in the US. 1. Stephen Colbert mentions it. 2. FriendFeed has a special Navroz banner. 3. Traditionally, Muslims read the Qur'an in its entirety over this time, in a section a day. The Qur'an is split into thirty sections, called juz', and one section is read each night.  This year is the 10th year I am inviting people to tweet the Qur’an for Ramadan. Conferences, Conferences

As you all know, next weekend is the Progressive Faith Blog Con. I’ll be there, and I hope to you meet you there as well. This weekend, I’m in Copenhagen for a conference called Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow (although they don’t have a website today). The press release is here.
