Those of you familiar with the theology and history of the Nation of Islam will immediately recognize parallels with the formation of this hate group. Hat tip to the Killer Whale.

Hijab
There is an op-ed written in a NY Urdu language paper (English translation) that deals with the issue of hijab. I’m looking for the Urdu version, but the English translation reminds me very much of what some of the early debate was like in NY in English. You would throw out a whole bunch of arguments and see what would stick. The arguments have become much more sophisticated and targeted, helped both by time and the easy accessibility of more academic material. I think this article is important, not because of what it says, but because of the language and…
PFBC – Pluralism [updated]
In anticipation of a panel I’m on on diversity, here are two quotes from Diana Eck on the topic. Christianity? If so, is this really what they stand for?…

Interesting story on a crackpot group that I hadn’t heard of before. But is the Killer Whale serious when he says
“right-wing extremism has always been, and always will be, the most vicious proponent of beliefs that destroy the basic fabric of civilization.”
I’m staring at a new book on Pol Pot on my bookshelf. Or I could mention Mao, or Stalin.
Thoughts on my own career path as an Architect
Several people have asked that I post a little about my background before joining my current employer in my capacity as an architect. Figured I would oblige their request along with commenting on some additional career insights from my mentor……
