Mine’s bigger than yours
I saw this article on the murder of Shi’ah in Karachi a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t want to do another article on Muslim-on-Muslim violence; they weren’t anything new. Last night, I had a conversation with a friend and something occurred to me: Pakistan is a Muslim country, at least 99% of the population is Muslim. There are some Christians, and the Ahmadis (different post) were declared non-Muslim, otherwise the assumption is that everyone in Pakistan is a Muslim. The Ahmadiyya situation indicates that the Sunni majority could work to legally have the Shi’ah declared non-Muslim, like in Saudi…
Too Many Mosques
It’s true. The ranking Republican member of Homeland Security says so. We need to infiltrate. But won’t that mean more radical Islamics? Then more infiltration. Then more radical Islamics! I don’t truly believe Republicans are consciously supporting Al-Qaeda. They just do whatever it takes to make sure Al-Qaeda wins, but they don’t know it. Navroz Mubarak 2009
Tomorrow, Saturday, is Navroz, the Iranian solar new year, and a day that many Shi’ah and people in the Persianate world celebrate. I normally have my Navroz poem up, but this year the day seems to have hit the big time in the US. 1. Stephen Colbert mentions it. 2. FriendFeed has a special Navroz banner. 3. President Obama send out Navroz greetings.
