I love how he describes his job. It’s what reporters should be doing and so rarely do. Anderson Cooper confronts anti-Muslim candidate – War Room – Salon.com. During an exchange about whether Park51 is a “victory mosque,” a frustrated Cooper exclaims: “That’s like the lowest response I have ever heard from a candidate, I have got to tell you.”

Free Speech

This is why I love the internets. Hypocrisy is so easy to find. For the record, I think censorship is too blunt a tool to be effective in dealing with disagreeable ideas. Technorati Tags: free speech

Geert Wilders and Free Speech

Aziz beat me to it. Geert Wilders was arrested for attacking Islam. Dumb idea. As Aziz says “the best answer to bad speech is more speech.” The best thing to happen now is that a group of Dutch Muslims comes forward to his defense. Islam is bigger than one person, whether OBL or Geert Wilders. It can take care of itself. It’s Muslims who need to care of ourselves, and that doesn’t mean supporting dumb ideas.
