Torturers For Hire
But didn’t CIA officers have to approve the request? Former FBI supervisory special agent Ali Soufan, writing in an op-ed in the New York Times today, makes this parenthetical point regarding CIA torture: (It’s worth noting that when reading between the lines of the newly released memos, it seems clear that it was contractors, not C.I.A. officers, who requested the use of these techniques.) I’m not sure if that puts a different gloss on Obama’s decision not to prosecute CIA officers, but it’s a point worth noting. [From Torturers For Hire]

Rallies Nationwide on ‘Bill Of Rights’ Day Dec. 15 | Wisconsin Bail Out the People Movement
Rallies Nationwide on ‘Bill Of Rights’ Day Dec. 15 | Wisconsin Bail Out the People Movement. Congress is today attempting to bury the Bill of Rights. The National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 (NDAA) includes language proposed by Democratic Sen. Carl Levin and Republican Sen. John McCain that allows for the arrest and indefinite detention of U.S. citizens by the military, on U.S. soil and without the right of trial. This is an egregious violation of our first amendment rights and comes at a time when we are witnessing unprecedented attacks on our civil liberties.

Bye, bye Rummy…Good ridence
I don’t think Chaney will be going anywhere unless he and Bush are impeached, but perhaps better days are to come for America now.
Here, here. . .Rummy turned out to have less than a stellar mind and little heart. I’m sorry that I had to live through it and hundreds of thousands had to die due to his shoddy work.
