Joi Ito has posted something about making information available on the web. He mentions Ismail Serageldin, who was involved (I don’t know if he still is) with the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, which of course has relations with ArchNet, which has a great on-line library.

I like Eboo a lot. I think he’s actually behind the curve on this one though; the Muslim-American community is well on the path he describes. Doesn’t mean that he doesn’t say it well. Ismail no longer serves on the Master Jury or Steering Committee of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, but in the 2004 cycle, he represented the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which one an Award. As the Steering Committee and Master Jury changes each three year cycle, there is nothing stopping Ismail from serving again.
