Dear Friend, Parwaz Playhouse is excited to announce its next production: BEYOND THE HORIZON by Eugene O’Neill, adapted and directed by Imran S. Javaid. Starring Adeel Ahmed, Aizzah Fatima, Kamran Khan, Fawzia Mahmood, and Imran W. Sheikh.
Parwaz Playhouse’s first original play, GLASS, was performed to a sold-out audience at the Downtown Urban Theater Festival in April 2010. Having received tremendous acclaim from the BBC, Bridges TV, Elan Magazine and other critical outlets, Parwaz Playhouse now presents a colorful and profound adaptation of Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize winning masterpiece, BEYOND THE HORIZON.
Javaid’s adaptation sets O’Neill’s timeless narrative of two brothers — one who sets off to see the world and one who stays behind — in turbulent and transfomative 1960s Pakistan. In staging what many consider the first great play by America’s first great playwright, Parwaz Playhouse pays homage to, and places itself in the context of, the great and varied history of American theater. Parwaz Playhouse considers this a vital effort in today’s American landscape.

Parwaz Playhouse’s creation was inspired by the hit play “The Domestic Crusaders” by Wajahat Ali. Co-founders Imran W. Sheikh and Imran Javaid were both involved in the play, which was covered by NBC, BBC, WBAI, The New York Times, Newsweek, TIME Magazine, and others.
