A coalition of civil rights organizations just released “Mapping Muslims: NYPD Spying and its Impact on American Muslims” which pulls together what we know of the NYPD surveillance of Muslim communities throughout the Northeast, places the surveillance in a legal context, and more importantly, interviews Muslims to understand the real world impact of the surveillance.
Keeping Hope Alive
This is a time for me to do something about the world I want to live in, and hopefully the rest of the liberals and progressives will feel the same way…. I believe in the idea of America, an idea that I believe this administration is fundamentally opposed to, and I will continue to fight for that idea and that ideal.
Boston beats New York
What a headline! This whole A-Rod trade has got Boston in an uproar, so I thought I’d give them a win over New York (namely me as the officially designated representative of the state.) I was working on a post about inclusion in the state, one which will probably still appear in some form, when today’s Boston Globe ran this op-ed about the French and the Bay Staters.
